The Ukrainian Wheat Distribution Project, implemented by AYGF under the World Food Program, aims to provide critical food assistance and strengthen community resilience in Katsina State. Through the distribution of 1,963 metric tons of wheat grain donated by Ukraine, the project supports 86,389 vulnerable individuals over a three-month period. The initiative focuses on five Local Government Areas (LGAs): Kurfi, Dutsinma, Safana, Danmusa, and Batsari. Activities across these LGAs include advocacy visits, community sensitization, and focus group discussions to engage and inform beneficiaries. Additionally, vouchers are distributed to eligible households, and sensitization sessions are conducted for community and religious leaders to foster local support and awareness.
The Reintegration, Empowerment, and Support for Trafficking in Persons Program (RESTIPP), funded by UNODC and implemented by AYGF, operates in Edo State, Nigeria, to support women and girls who have experienced trafficking. RESTIPP offers vocational training, counseling, and legal services through referrals, aiming to empower survivors and facilitate their reintegration, thereby reducing the risk of re-trafficking. Emphasizing collaboration with local agencies, the project seeks to establish a sustainable support system for beneficiaries. Key achievements include the project kickoff meeting, a sensitization campaign in Oredo Community, profiling and assessing the needs of 50 beneficiaries, identifying trainers, developing a feedback mechanism, stakeholder mapping, conducting advocacy visits, forming a steering committee, and participating in the 2024 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30, where the team raised awareness and amplified survivor voices as part of global anti-trafficking efforts.
